Composée en 1996, Auriga, pour chœur de flûtes, est dédiée à l’Ochestre national de flûtes du Venezuela, créé l’année précédente et dont René Orea a été l’un des membres fondateurs.  Cet ensemble en a fait la première et l’œuvre a été rejouée plusieurs fois. 
 
Composed in 1996, Auriga —written for a flute choir —is dedicated to the National Flute Orchestra of Venezuela, founded the previous year, with René Orea serving as one of its founding members. They gave the work its premiere, and it has since been performed on numerous occasions.
